Vintage RARE 1980's Shure SM-54 cardioid dynamic microphone USA w accessories

Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a high quality 1980's era Shure Brothers dynamic cardioid microphone that has been cleaned and tested. I t comes with an original Shure mic clip and a metal Shure carrying case.

This SM-54 model was made in America and a super high quality Shure product. Pic # 2 is from an old advertisement showing the mics characteristics. This is a far superior version of the American built SM-58. The Shure SM-54 was only made for about 10 years so you don't see too many of these around. It was a higher end dynamic cardioid microphone in Shure Brothers line up and considered a "studio mic".

These mics are so well made that properly stored... Will last probably 100 years. The Shure SM-54 has a beautiful warm tone and set at Low Impedance with an adjustable bass drop off switch as seen in pic # 9. Great if you need more or less bass in your sound.

An excellent choice for singing and broadcasting purposes. These mics are uni-directional picking up only the sound that's directly in front of the screen cancelling out most background noise making it ideal for situations where audience or fellow band members might be a problem.

I have found that these models (much like the SM-53) have far stronger signals when using an XLR to male 1/4 inch cable. The XLR to XLR cables just don't seem to produce as much power. These lite weight mics are built like tanks and can be handheld or placed in a mic clip. As you can see there are typical signs of lite wear on the painted surface but still a very good looking and above average for a mic of this age.

The stock champagne painted finish is a signature SM-54 scheme but shows small scratches and scuff marks in the paint from years of being handled but no dents or fractures. The Shure label looks great. The side mesh screens are free of any dents or corrosion. The front screen has the most subtle deformation.

This mic has a new foam insert in the front grill and it's in great condition. It helps greatly with acoustics and prevents the dreaded "pops" from breathing or windy conditions. Mic is 100% complete and solid. Microphone and an easy 7 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty of this mic is the quality sound it produces. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event. The clip is an original A57E Shure model.

It shows typical wear but works perfectly for this mic. Grips nicely and gives a wide degree of angle up and down.

It will screw on to any American desk or floor stand. The Shure mic case is included and shows very lite wear with zero corrosion or dents.

Works great and will protect your mic while not in actual use. Two new foam pads were installed as the old ones were missing.

The locking mechanism works perfectly too keeping the lids closed. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY... NOT PART OF THIS SALE. This classic American made model is steadily going up in value so it's a wise choice from an investment point of view. I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid.
