Vintage RARE 1970's Shure PE566 Dynamic cardioid microphone gold w accessories

  

Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a very rare and good looking 1970's era Shure Brothers PE566 (Unisphere 1) dynamic cardioid microphone complete with an original mic over and a newer black vinyl mic pouch in which to store the mic.

This rare gold plated variant PE566 is based on the common 565 & 565D. Pic # 2 from an old Shure advertisement showing the 565 and it's variants. The gold plate on these older mics was very thin so they rarely look good after al these decades as the gold scratches and wears off easily. This example is far above average and looks pretty darn nice.

It should be noted that this mic was exceptional for use with vocals, singing, broadcasting, etc.. The PE566 came with a built in dual Z switch beneath the switch cover so you can go high Z or Low Z depending on your needs. The switch on this mic works perfect and it sounds lovely.

Sounds like the day it was made. The mic is uni-directional as well doing an excellent job of eliminating all background noise. The PE566 also had a built in shock mount just like the 556S and 330 models helping to eliminate those annoying "thumps" when the mic is live and knocked into. As you can see in the pictures provided the gold finish is quite nice with just a few lite scratches and scuff marks but the mic. No dents or heavy tarnish on the gold plate.

The front globe looks exceptional and free of any odors or dents. The inner foam pop filter / liner is new as the original was all but rotted away. It helps with unwanted feedback from wind or strong breathing. The joint mechanism has lots of tension and you can get just the right angle needed once the mic is screwed onto your favorite desk or floor stand. The XLR connection has been cleaned on this mic giving maximum signal strength. The mic comes with a Shure red felt mic cover that will protect your mic from scratches while not in use. Mic sleeve looks great too. Again, the newer black vinyl Shure vinyl mic pouch is also included and in great physical and working condition.

A great place to store your mic while not in actual use. A beautiful mic that's an easy 7 + cosmetically speaking on a scale of 1 - 10. You're gonna love the sound of this quality Shure mic once you get it up and running. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...
