Even if you don't plan on using this mic it could be used for display or prop purposes. The sound of this mic is very "rockabilly" in nature being high impedance and lacking the bass that most mics have today. A very old school sound so if that's what you like or need then this mic will fit the bill.
The PGH model had a highly polished housing. Most I come across are in very rough condition but this one is a pretty decent example and would do any collector justice. There are several small scratches and scuff marks in the polished chrome finish but zero fractures or dents.
A bit of fine pitting too. The Amperite badge looks very nice as well and the switch operates as it should sliding smoothly. The joint mechanism has plenty of tension as well and you can get the right angle needed on the mic head. The threading for the cable and stand are perfect. The front grill shows zero dents with lite tarnish.
There are no loose components inside of the mic. The mic will screw on to any American desk or floor stand but it comes with the older stand shown. I would rate the cosmetic condition of this Amperite a true 6 on a scale of 1 - 10. This would make a great display piece in the home, office or studio.
These also make great lamp conversions if you are into doing such projects because of all the room inside the mic and the interested screen it has. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...
