Vintage 1980's Shure PE65L cardioid dynamic microphone Lo Z w accessories SM57

  
Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. If you're a singer, drummer or broadcaster and looking for something special this just might be right for you? You are looking at a quality Shure Brothers dynamic cardioid microphone from the 1980's that has been thoroughly cleaned and tested. This is a harder to find PE65L model mic that was factory set at low impedance and made in the United States. I t comes with an original Shure mic clip and vinyl Shure mic pouch in which to store. Pic # 2 shows this model as well as several others in an old 1980's Shure advertisement. The PE65L utilizes the same cartridge as the early 545, 545S and SM57. The on / off switch makes the mic a bit more practical than the SM57. These American made models had a higher quality control than the later Mexican made examples and are very desirable to use for vocals, broadcasting and they happen to be great snare mics as well. The tone is lovely on these and has just the right amount of bass.

Excellent uni-directional characteristics as well. The mic has 100% output with zero issues.

The on / off switch works perfectly and the XLR pins were cleaned for a perfect connection once the cable is attached. The PE85L is an all metal design with a painted body and is about average in weight. The mic is appx 6 inches long X 1 inch wide at the front grill.

Same dimensions as the SM57. As you can see there are typical lite signs of wear on the original painted handle. A heavier scratch on the handle and a few lite scuff marks but zero fractures or corrosion.

The front grill looks really nice with zero dents or odors. The Shure label looks very nice and completely legible.

The inner foam insert / pop filter is new and in great condition. I usually replace these as the older ones are in rough and degraded condition. It helps greatly with acoustics and prevents the dreaded "pops" from breathing or windy conditions. Microphone is a very conservative 7 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking.

The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event. The mic clip is an original A-25 Shure model and works great giving the mic a wide range of tilt up and down.

It will screw on to any American desk or floor stand. The Shure vinyl mic case is also original and included and in excellent condition. Zipper works great and will protect your mic while not in actual use.

If you love the older American made SM57 but don't want to pay as much for one then this PE65L will be a far better bargain and it's going to hold up for decades to come. A great choice for resale purposes as they really hold their value. Mic takes a standard XLR cable to operate but none is included. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY...
