Vintage 1970's Shure PE-52 dynamic cardioid microphone Hi Z w accessories PE-54

  

Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a rare and very unique 1970's era Shure Brothers PE52 "Vegabond" model dynamic cardioid microphone that is a dual impedance mic and it come with the mic clip, mic pouch and exterior foam pop filter shown. This interesting mic is a quality build with an all metal construction and satin chrome finish and has very good uni-directional characteristics. Pic # 2 shows this very mic in an old Shure advertisement. I don't know the backstory behind this mic and don't have it in any of my Shure catalogs form the 1970's though I only have a few.

I've only ever come across 3 of these over the past 13 years making this one of the rarest Shure mics ever made. The mic has an aggressive design and has a bit of weigh to it. It should be noted that the mic has been cleaned and tested. It has a 100% signal strength and sounds very nice.

Again, mic is dual Z. Currently set at High Z so it's mostly void of bass and would be great for a HAM radio set up or any other general broadcasting purposes.

As you can see there is hardly any wear on this mic. The sating chrome handle has a beautiful luster and the on / off switch works perfectly. Shure label looks very good and completely legible. The XLR pins have been cleaned ensuring a perfect connection once a cable is attached. I'd rate the cosmetic condition a true 9 on a scale of 1 - 10. The mic comes with a new black foam pop filter that you don't need to use but it's there in case you want maximum performance and it looks great on the mic as well. The mic comes with the newer Shure A25 model mic clip and it fits the mic like a glove. It provides a great degree of tilt up and down and will fit any stand you have.

The black vinyl Shure mic pouch is also included. It's in perfect condition and a great place to store the items when not in use.

Does a great job of keeping the scratches away from the mic. If you demand rare and unique for the mic collection or for everyday use the PE-52 "Vagabond" will certainly do the job.
