Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. If your a singer or drummer looking for something special with excellent sound quality and an old school style flair at a very reasonable price then you might want to consider this classic Shure microphone. This is the only 545 / DY45G I currently I have and they sell so quick I can never hold onto these for more than a week. If you need one I suggest grabbing it before it's gone. You are looking at a 1960's era Shure Brothers 545 dynamic cardioid microphone with uber strong output and warm tone.
This is the DY45G model which is exactly the same as the 545. This mic has been thoroughly cleaned and tested. The signal strength on this old mic is strong and very clear... It's set at Low impedance having a bit of bass to it giving a nice warm tone. The 545 has distinctive looks and was a radical new design for Shure Brothers when it was first introduced to the world in 1960 with it's bold, simplistic and modern layout. It's been said by many musicians that the sound quality of this particular microphone is the best bang for the buck.
Perfect for vocals, broadcasting and drums. Pic # 2 is from an old catalog I have showing all of the mics performance characteristics. As you can see in the pictures provided there are virtually no signs of wear. The satin chrome shows zero pitting, fractures, scuff marks or scratches. The black plastic fittings have no cracks or fractures but there are just a few small scuffs marks.
The front screen shows no dents or tarnish. The mic has a new inner foam screen I installed as the original was completely gone. This helps greatly reduce unwanted "pops" from breathing and singing too close to the mic. Overall a very nice looking mic that's far above average for a 50 year old microphone and an easy 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10.The mic comes with a generic older Shure style mic clip fits the mic nicely and allows for a wide degree of tilt up and down. The clip functions perfectly and will screw onto any desk or floor stand. The mic takes a 3 pin screw on cable. There is one included and it's appx 10 feet long. It's in excellent condition and has the quality Switchcraft male XLR end connector for use with all modern audio equipment.
This model of mic happens to work extremely well with drums. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE AND USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY..As with all my vintage microphones and stands.. I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid.
Simply return in the same nice condition... INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well.
