Rare Shure 55 Super 55-BCR dynamic cardioid microphone red / black w pouch

  
Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. This is only the second Super 55-BCR I have ever offered for sale in 8 years of doing this. You are looking at a rare limited edition variant of the more common Shure 55 with chrome body and blue foam screens. This is the satin black on red model that was used often by James Hetfield w Metallica as seen in pic # 2. In August 2010, Shure introduced the Special Edition Super 55-BCR microphone with a black and red color scheme. And was available in the United States only at Guitar Center stores. Featuring a black die-cast case, supercardioid polar pattern, and red foam, the Special Edition Super 55 was designed for stage, studio recording, podcasting, and other sound applications where a stand-mounted microphone with a classic look is desired. An integrated, swivel stand mount base and microphone bag was also included. The early original 55S was a legendary microphone used by many famous artists and politicians over the years including Elvis Presley and even the young revolutionary Fidel Castro. Those clean lines and deco styling make this mic stand out from all the others produced over the last century. This mic has a long fascinating history and this limited edition 55-BCR is just another interesting story in that lineage. As seen in the pictures provided this mic shows extremely lite cosmetic wear. The satin black finish looks very nice with zero pitting or scratches but there is a small scuff mark on the rear top of the head as seen in pic # 9.

No broken or bent ribs either. The red foam screens show zero fading, rips or holes which is always a bonus. This mic was well taken care of. The threads for the stand are excellent and you can screw this mic onto any desk or floor stand you have T he joint mechanism holds strong allowing just about any angle you need.

The Shure label looks very nice as well. Overall this mic is a very conservative 9 on a scale of 1 - 10.

It should be noted that this mic has a an excellent working dynamic cardioid element with perfect output. Absolutely no issues and a warm smooth tone. You can use this for any live event and uni-directional qualities on these mics are outstanding. If you are a singer...

You're going to appreciate this fine example. The mic takes a standard XLR cable which is not included. A Shure black vinyl mic pouch is also included. It's a great accessory to protect your mic when not in use or in which to store as it keeps the scratches away from the mic. The original foam padding is still inside.

The pouch is in perfect physical and working condition. If you are looking for another rare exception Shure mic try checking out the Shure 5575LE based on the old 55 "Fatboy". I only have one available and they too are quite special.
